On June 5, 2009, Michigan DEQ Consumers Energy FILED its "Alternatives Analysis" to the Michigan Public Services Commission (MPSC)
This filing is in response to the requirement that proposers of coal plants explore alternatives and justify the need for a new plant. This is the first such filing and could go very fast. The clock is already ticking on the public response period and very little material was made available to the public at the time of the filing.
If you are concerned that this document will not be adequately reviewed....
If you are concerned the public will not see the documents in time to adequately comment...
If you wish to make certain that the MPSC is educated on the real needs and real alternatives available...
If you have any comments relating to the lack of need for this plant...
Comments can be emailed to: mpscedockets@michigan.gov
They may be mailed to: Executive Secretary Michigan Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 30221, Lansing, MI 48909
The initial comment period is through July 5, 2009.
